City Block—Telling Untold Stories

Storytelling.

We all know what it is, yet it becomes elusive when it comes to telling your brand’s story. But what is a brand story, how do brands go about telling it, and who should they hire to make it happen?

Those are all relevant questions for companies today and for some it can be a daunting task if it’s undertaken by an inexperienced, understaffed, or even nonexistent marketing team.

Almost two years ago Lindsay Van Quaethem started City Block to help businesses in downtown St. Louis share their stories and conquer digital marketing.

Van Quaethem, who previously worked for Downtown STL, was all too familiar with great downtown businesses who weren’t able to share their stories due to a number of constraints.

“I realized there were so many great stories going untold because people didn’t have the means or the manpower or the time” she said.

City Block focuses mainly on storytelling and digital marketing—helping brands find their story and effectively share it on social media platforms.

“In addition to being storytellers, I like to call us brand journalists. We come in and truly try to identify and empathize with them to figure out the business’s core values, what drives them, what’s most important.”

Since City Block takes care of the social marketing for the businesses they work for, it really allows their clients to get back to the core of their business and focus on their product or service without distraction.
