Like many entrepreneurs, Ronke Faleti started her business to solve a problem that she and many other women often face: the struggle for a beautiful, but truly functional purse that can handle the busy lives of women today.
“I was frustrated with the options that were available with my nice, name-brand bags,” says Faleti, “I have responsibilities for family at home, I have responsibilities at work, I have responsibilities outside of work and I wanted something that was clean, simple, beautiful—but with interiors that could go with me no matter what I’m doing.”
While on maternity leave with her third child, Faleti began sketching out what her ideal day-to-day bag would look like. Soon after, she began the arduous process of researching, hiring a technical designer, and contacting manufacturers in order to make her bag a reality.
Once her dream bag became a reality, korédé was born.
“The name of the business, korédé, means bring goodness, and it is our mission to bring goodness to all those women out there womaning, and we are on a mission to make the most beautifully functional work bag.”
Faleti and the products she creates are there to bring goodness and empowerment to all the women out there womaning, or put another way; for the woman who is a hero, doing the job of many, at times uncelebrated and often with style.
In fact, korédé plans to offer more products by the end of this summer thanks to the help of St. Louis Fashion Fund, of which Faleti is a Fashion Lab program inaugural member.

As always, the Bourbon Friday team does their best to choose a fitting drink for the occasion.
This week the drink of choice is TX Bourbon. As the name suggests, this bourbon is made in Texas, specifically the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which also happens to be where Faleti lived when she moved to the U.S. TX Bourbon is produced by Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co., and is made with the help of Whiskey Scientist, Ale Ochoa, who was recently named one of the top 6 women to watch in the whiskey industry.
