Danforth Plant Science Center launches its own startup company to commercialize its research

DTC is enabled through seed funding and intellectual property from the Danforth Centre to create new companies. Along with the launch, DTC is confident that many new startups could be formed within the year through the developments of the Danforth Center technologies similar to Benson Hill which went public in 2021 at a valuation above $1 Billion.

InnoSTL reports that the Danforth Plant Science Center has launched its own startup company, Danforth Technology Co. (DTC) in order to commercialize its research and technology that originates from scientists at the Danforth Center. Led by Tom Laurita as CEO, DTC aims to act as a link between Danforth Science Center scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, companies, and technology leaders.
