The Bourbon Friday Show

The Bourbon Friday Show with Jessica Stanko from Skandalaris Center

On this episode of the Bourbon Friday Show we had the opportunity to talk with Jessica Stanko about the Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation and Entrepreneurship and its programs.

Entrepreneurship for All

Founded in 2001, the Skandalaris Center has helped countless students from all majors with their entrepreneurial ventures.

“We [Skandalaris Center] provide a suite of services and programs that can help people go from idea phase all the way up through launch,” says Stanko, “it doesn’t matter where they’re at in that process, but we can usually help them out.”

From providing one-on-one meetings and mentoring to hosting programs and networking opportunities, the Skandalaris Center’s influence runs deep. In addition to their partnerships with Sling Health, T-REX, Cortex, and St. Louis University, The Skandalaris Center also hosts an internship program during the summer where start-up ventures can host Washington University students.

During this 10-week program, a venture gets the opportunity to take on a student intern from almost any discipline, depending on what they need. Though there is a $1,000 fee to participate in the program, the students are paid through the Skandalaris Center for their work.

Any business interested in this program should go to for more info.
