The Bourbon Friday Show with Alon Gilboa from Explority

On this episode of the Bourbon Friday Show we had the opportunity to talk with Alon Gilboa, CEO and Co-founder of Explority, about how his platform helps educators take the hassle out of organizing out-of-classroom experiences.

Parent-Teacher Collaboration Tools for School Trips

Explority was born out of love for education and the idea that getting students out of the classroom and experiencing the world shouldn’t be so difficult. Though it’s currently in its beta phase, the Explority platform has already helped over 10,000 users from 75 different schools.

“When you look at the problems teachers face on a macro level, it’s very outdated: we’re still using a lot of paper forms and paper checks in 2018,” says Gilboa. Keeping track of field trip details such as permission slips, payments, and health forms can heap additional hours on to educator’s already full plates when trying to plan a trip.

Explority aims to remove the headache and run-around by focusing on three of the most challenging aspects of planning an out-of-school trip: logistics, educational content, and communication. With baked-in form building and payment tools, educators are able to easily create forms, send them to parents, and then see whose forms have been completed and whose payments have been turned in—right from the dashboard.

Getting Out of the Classroom

Even more important than the logistics, though, is the real reason that teachers take their students on these trips: the educational experience.

Educators are able to upload the trip agendas and the educational documents that outline what students will be experiencing and learning. While it’s helpful for students to get a look what they’ll be learning, it’s also a good way to keep parents in the know when their child is away from home.

In addition to knowing what their students will be doing and learning, Explority gives peace of mind to parents by creating a streamlined communication system between teachers and parents. Instead of hunting through emails or using different communication apps, Explority lets teachers send messages directly to parents and share updates all in one place.

On top of that, the platform’s simple design and ease of use only adds to the benefits for not only teachers, but parents and outside vendors as well.

The tool is free to use for schools and educators, so if you or someone you know may be interested, go to https://explority.com/ for more information or to sign up today. Educational experience vendors looking to partner with with Explority should reach out too.

Bourbon Innovation

As always, the Bourbon Friday team does their best to choose a fitting drink for the occasion.

Bourbon Friday // Startups, Changemakers, Business, Bourbon
Join Bourbon Friday every Friday at 4:00pm (CT) on Zoom.

The bottle this week is Defiance High Rye Bourbon. This delightfully bold and spicy high rye hails from Defiance, MO, just outside of St. Louis.

It’s unique from other distilleries in the fact that it is still a craft bourbon. Even more appropriately, however, Defiance is a family operation run by a father and son, just like Explority.
