Arch to Park—Equitable Growth for St. Louis
Over the last decade or so, St. Louis has been reinventing itself from a city of setbacks, to a city of new growth and innovation.
Around the time of the Great Recession, Hall jumped into the economic development scene as a public servant, and it was during that time that he realized how crucial job growth is to supporting and growing a struggling region.
“I saw that job creation isn’t a theoretical exercise. You know, during The Recession you saw the importance of a job to families, and so that fundamentally changed my trajectory,” says Hall.
And now as a Co-Founder of Arch to Park, he’s getting the chance to help drive the economic success of the St. Louis region.
Though Hall describes Arch to Park as “A civic minded investment organization focused on economic growth in the city of St Louis,” there is much more to it than just bringing monetary gains to the city.
In conjunction with STLMade, Arch to Park also wants to highlight the makers, doers and entrepreneurs that are helping this region move forward.
“We are a city that’s at the top of the entrepreneurial rankings and driving new business creation in this country,” says Hall, “and to be at the forefront of new industries like geospatial is an extraordinary moment in time.”
With as exciting of a time as it is in St. Louis, Hall notes that it’s important to include everyone in the economic growth of the region. By telling diverse success stories, reinvesting in the region, and bringing jobs to the areas that need them most, Hall hopes that we will be able to intentionally grow together as a region and share in the prosperity.

Bourbon Innovation
As always, the Bourbon Friday team does their best to choose a fitting drink for the occasion.
The drink of choice was StilL 630 Cask Strength Monon Bell Bourbon Whiskey. This bourbon is created by former Bourbon Friday Show guest, Dave Weglarz, owner and master distiller at the St. Louis based StilL 630 distillery. The Bourbon was created as an homage to the trophy for the annual football game between Weglarz’s alma mater, Wabash College and DePauw University. And since we were talking about that scrappy Spirit of St. Louis that drives us, there is nothing more scrappy than starting a distillery in an old Hardee’s at the edge of downtown.
