Developing a Playbook
One of the most overlooked aspects of digital marketing is to develop a playbook, beginning with defining the business goals you would like to reach with digital marketing. Cabrera focuses on what she terms as “Rockstar visibility.”
Many companies will say they already have so many followers or emails obtained for their mailing list, and Cabrera refers to these as vanity numbers. Her social media focus involves being present and consistent on the platforms you choose to operate on, that you are being talked about in comments or tags by others, and most importantly making sure your audience knows what you do.
This is important so people view you as an expert in the field and see enough of your posts to think of you first when the need arises.
Quality Over Quantity
Another part of Cabrera’s strategy to quality over quantity. She explains vanity statistics are nice and may make you feel accomplished, but she would rather have 500 real customers than 20,000 followers any day.
If you have one million views, so you automatically have one million sales of items? Typically the answer is no. Nine out of ten times the best approach is to show clients how they help you as you help them by installing the item or performing the service you developed to help them.
One of the easiest ways to increase online visibility is to use other people’s audiences.
This doesn’t mean to go out and buy lists of customer information. This is using the marketing feel good method. This is creating content talk and sharing.
First there is the time it takes to develop new content in the way in which you are sharing. This includes being a guest on a podcast, live on Clubhouse, or a guest on any live stream for that matter.
Everyone is looking for fresh content, so when someone wants to interview you, understand they are looking for new content. Look for livestreams seeking volunteers, or if live streaming isn’t your thing, consider writing a guest blog or appearing as a guest on a podcast.
The biggest thing is that you are using their audience to hear about your product or service.
Find New Audiences
You don’t have to take on digital and social media on your own.
Find ways to get in front of other audiences and your followers will grow immensely. This is how the social media influencers obtained their followings and you can do this with your business also.
The online community is known for sharing the love of new, unique content. Once your audience reaches Rockstar Visibility, don’t forget to share the love and get other new unique content to share with others.
Vanessa Cabrera’s audience persona contains mostly female entrepreneurs and solopreneurs. Cabrera believes this is because she started ATM while pregnant and is a single mother.
Many women look to her and say well if she can do it, why can’t I? Cabrera also admits to procrastinating herself in getting registered with MDMC and landing one of the last spots, also being the first Facebook livestream guest.
Cabrera suggests that anyone who has not attended in years past to look at the schedule of live speakers and on demand presentations, and plan to attend certain events and block time off. Because it is a digital conference you may forget or spend time on other things at the office instead of signing on.
