Epharmix Raises $765,000, Farmplicity Launches New Platform

A New Farm

Farmplicity, a startup founded in 2013 by three Washington University students, will launch its newest platform on Monday, Aug. 3. Acquired by wholesale food supplier Sunfarm Food Service last year, the platform calling itself “St. Louis’ online farmers market” allows farmers to list out their produce and food products for chefs and restauranteurs, who can then place orders directly with the farmer.

Since being acquired, Farmplicity’s customer base has seen an approximate increase of 300 percent, according to a release. The biggest change to come out of the newest version of the platform is that Sunfarm will now handle the delivery of produce, wherein prior versions, each farmer was responsible for delivering orders to each chef.

Local Funding

St. Louis-based health technology startup Epharmix recently raised $765,000, according to St. Louis Business Journal. The pre-revenue company, founded by Washington University graduates (including CEO Blake Marggraff, who co-founded Betaversity),  received this round of funding from a group of five investors, which includes BioGenerator. Epharmix’s products create digital interventions for medical care in order to increase its effectiveness.
