Startup Connection Opens Applications for 2016 Venture Showcase
Startup Connection 2016, the region’s largest event focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, announced that applications for the Venture Showcase are now open. Companies can apply here.
Scheduled for Wednesday November 16, Startup Connection highlights early-stage startups that are growing quickly in industry sectors such as advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, consumer products, education, financial services technology and IT/information technology.
70 companies are accepted into the showcase and will have the opportunity to present to the innovation and business community for a chance to win over $250,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. Those accepted into the showcase will be announced in late September.
“Startup Connection is a great opportunity for emerging companies to get in front of a local audience and pitch their businesses with the added bonus of a chance to win some cash or services,” said Startup Connection managing director Phyllis Ellison, director of entrepreneur services and institutional & corporate partnerships at the Cortex Innovation Community in a statement.
Startup Connection 2016 will be at Washington University’s Knight Hall from 5-9 pm. This year Accelerate St. Louis returns as the title sponsor and Simplify Commerce and Washington University are returning as Venture Showcase sponsor and Resource Fair sponsor, respectively.
Startup Connection ’16 is organized by Arch Grants, BioSTL, Cortex Innovation Community, Eagle Bank and Trust Co., GlobalHack, ITEN, St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, St. Louis Makes and the St. Louis Regional Chamber.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, September 2, 2016. Apply Here
