On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, Mastercard will announce a five-year commitment of $250,000 in support of LaunchCode’s CoderGirl program, which provides tech training and job placement to women with a desire to enter the tech workforce. In honor of this gift and Mastercard’s continued generosity to this program over the past four years, LaunchCode is renaming the program “CoderGirl presented by Mastercard.”
“The CoderGirl program is a cornerstone in our region’s efforts to lift up women in technology and Mastercard’s multi-level support is instrumental to its success,” said Jeff Mazur, LaunchCode Executive Director.
“Not only does Mastercard’s generosity ensure funding for operational costs, but Mastercard goes the extra mile by providing multiple volunteer CoderGirl mentors and continues to be a dedicated hiring partner. Mastercard is a shining example of a true advocate.”
“Mastercard is committed to moving the needle in technology workforce needs,” said Charlie Hall, senior vice president, Human Resources for Mastercard.
“Our partnership with LaunchCode builds on that commitment by connecting us with skilled, new tech talent which leads to better engagement, innovation and productivity within our organization.”
Representatives from Mastercard will present the check to CoderGirls during the graduation ceremony for their Summer 2018 cohort.
