TechArtista is Hosting a Competition for Artists To Redesign Iconic Pyramids

The selected artist will receive cash compensation, a supply stipend, a $250 4 Hands gift certificate, and a 1-year drop-in membership to TechArtista.

In collaboration with 4 Hands Brewing Co. and their City Wide Pilsner Innovation Scholarship, TechArtista is seeking an artist to redesign their iconic pyramids in The Pilsner Challenge. Artists are able to submit their ideas from now through February 22nd.

Artists and designers interested in the opportunity are invited to attend the Drink & Sketch with 4 Hands at TechArtista on Tuesday, February 12th from 7 to 10 pm. The redesigned pyramids will be revealed at TechArtista’s 5 Year Anniversary Party on May 3rd.

TechArtista will celebrate their five year anniversary this May. Since the beginning, the iconic pyramids in the heart of the building have been a visual attraction for members and the community. The pyramids were originally built by the Puckett Group in 1991 and commissioned in 2014 out to Screwed Arts Collective.

Artists who’d like to be considered for taking on this project can submit a sketch and a written plan for the pyramids online (techartista.org/pilsner-challenge) or at TechArtista’s location (4818 Washington Blvd).

TechArtista and 4 Hands will select a winner and they will be announced on March 4th. The selected artist will receive cash compensation, a supply stipend, a $250 4 Hands gift certificate, and a 1-year drop-in membership to TechArtista.

“This is our third year in a row working with Techartista on our City Wide Pilsner Scholarship. Our City Wide Platform comes with a mission to help support our local small business communities, artists and organizations in the area. We are grateful for our relationship with Techartista and look forward to seeing the Pilsner Challenge play out,” Kevin Lemp, 4 Hands President, comments.

At the Drink & Sketch with 4 Hands event, artists and designers will be able to see the pyramids up close, submit their entry, enjoy City Wide Pilsner and other seasonal beers from 4 Hands, enjoy music, and meet other local artists. If guests want to attend but not participate in The Challenge, TechArtista will have Edo Rosenblith x 4 Hands coloring pages on hand and supplies to use as well. Other events surrounding the installation and revealing to be announced soon.

“We’re excited to collaborate with 4 Hands on this project and to be able to offer opportunities to the creative community. 4 Hands has been an excellent partner in that our shared goals are making an impact on the community,” comments Christopher Holt, TechArtista’s Founder and CEO.
