Husch Blackwell, a national law firm based in Missouri, is sponsoring Get Started Omaha, a premier pitch competition on April 6 that will highlight 30 seed-stage startups. Startups from the Midwest and across the country will have the opportunity to network and showcase their business to a panel of judges and attendees.
These startups represent five industry tracks that include healthcare and education; manufacturing, These startups, which have raised less than $1 million in funding, represent five industry tracks that
include healthcare and education; manufacturing, transportation and logistics; food and agriculture;
energy, natural resources and real estate; and technology and financial services. Six startups—a winner from the five industry tracks and the people’s choice selection—will pitch to three judges for an opportunity to win $25,000.
“Get Started Omaha is an opportunity for executives and investors to get an up-close look at 30 startups that have gained traction in the market,” said Jenny Miller, Husch Blackwell’s Startup Community Program Lead in a press release sent to EQ. “We are excited for the future of these companies and are pleased that Get Started Omaha can help each potentially grow.”

FlipStik – founded by Shark Tank winner from St. Louis, Akeem Shannon, FlipStik offers a mobile phone accessory that sticks your phone to literally any surface.
SpenDebt – founded by Missouri S&T alum Kiley Summers, SpenDebt is an Arch Grant recipient company now based in Texas that offers a SaaS payment solution providing a frictionless way for companies to recover overdue bill payments from their customers.
Veeper – with their CTO based out of St Charles, Veeper is a Shopify app that tracks customers’ shopping habits to apply the smallest discount that gets them to buy more.
Azella Advisor – Kansas City, MO, startup uses questionnaires to helps financial advisors set up social media, CRM and targeted campaigns at the click of a button.
